YouTube Shorts revenue calculator

Shorts use a different revenue pool than long-form videos. Enter eligible or monetized Shorts views and a creator RPM that already reflects what creators report earning—do not apply YouTube’s long-form revenue share on top. This tool is not affiliated with YouTube.

Example: 0.06 typical Shorts RPM on 1,000,000 eligible views is $60. Defaults are conservative illustrations, not official rates.

Default example typical estimate: $60.00 (low $20.00, high $120.00).

Use views that qualify for the Shorts revenue pool, not every impression.

Method

How the estimate is calculated

Formula: estimated creator revenue = monetized views ÷ 1,000 × creator RPM. Creator RPM is earnings per thousand monetized views, not advertiser CPM.

Low, typical, and high RPM fields produce a range because real payouts move with audience location, advertiser demand, seasonality, eligible views, music use, content suitability, and YouTube Partner Program status. YouTube does not guarantee earnings.

Shorts and long-form RPM are not interchangeable. Shorts RPM here is treated as creator earnings after YouTube’s allocation. We do not multiply by a second platform share.

FAQ

Shorts draw from a separate revenue pool and usually pay less per thousand eligible views. Do not reuse a long-form RPM on Shorts views.
